With UpcomingCons.com we were put up to the task of developing a web application that would list take event submissions, save them to a database, and list them for visitors. The application needed to give the users a unique interaction, with the ability to comment on events, search, and interact with the site. The application uses Ruby on Rails and MySQL with Mongrel Clusters on Ubuntu Linux.
